Esther is a little better
Esther is getting better !!
You remember the story of little Esther, suffering from a very large infection in the jaw, probably badly treated, and that we had come across by chance during a consultation at the Sagbadai dispensary.
SPESS quickly organised and took charge of the emergency care carried out at the private clinique in Sokodé, under the supervision of Anaïs, the paediatrician.
The urgency of a CT scan forced Esther and her dad, accompanied by Pastor Sidoine, to go to Lomé on December 1. Once the CT scan was completed, the family was received on December 2 at the Afagnan hospital in the south of the country for a possible operation by a foreign medical mission. A long trip to the city and a lot of apprehension for people who had never really left Sokodé ...
We contacted the family every day to encourage them to persevere and to follow Esther's prescriptions and care to the letter: the results of the care are very encouraging, and Esther was authorised today to return to her village , which she will join tomorrow via Lomé with the father and the Pastor.
There was finally no operation, we await more precise medical results, but Esther will be able to resume a normal life, at home, under the medical supervision of the Sokodé clinic.
It's a huge relief and a great Christmas story.
Thank you to all the people who facilitated this care, to Sidoine the Pastor who assured with smile the support to the father, to Taïrou and his brother for the help to Lomé, to the pediatrician Anaïs, to our friend the doctor Agbeko, and the medical team of Afagnan and the clinique in Sokodé.
We will remain attentive and watch over Esther's health ...
