Since our arrival, I have had the opportunity to participate in the vaccination of babies at the clinic of AKAMADE and also the clinic of SAGBADAI.
Lá vaccination of children is free in TOGO and key vaccines are completed when the child is 9 months.
Unfortunately, to get the mothers to come regularly to vaccinate and monitor the growth of their children is a real problem, because of the remoteness of the clinic, or the lack of interest of the families, thus the children's health suffers. There are 20 times more infant mortality in Togo than in France for children under 5 years!!
To encourage parents to vaccinate their children, we thought that a small reward when the child was 9 months and had completed the vaccines. Offering a small T-shirt on which is noted "I am vaccinated I am protected "in addition to the SPESS logo.
We have made contacts to estimate the cost of the project and I think it will attract the mothers. Children are often naked or dressed in torn clothes. I have this project very much at heart and thank you in advance in helping to see it through.
